]]> Woodruff Brewing is providing the beer, Juan Flores Cruz will be cooking the Shepherd's Pie, Carl Gombert & friends will be playing the music, and Tim Klein will call the dance — now all that's missing at the St. Patrick's Dinner Dance is YOU !

Tickets for the St. Pat's Dinner & Contra Dance will be sold this Sunday morning in the Fellowship Hall starting at 10a.m.

Still looking for a cool Valentine's gift? Don't make it another Walgreen's holiday — give tickets to this fun evening instead.

For dinner, the Youth Group will be providing a delicious menu of Corned Beef & Cabbage, Vegetarian Shepherd's Pie, side dish, dessert and beverage. Beer provided free of charge.

Dinner to be followed by a live band and Contra dance in the Sanctuary! Beginners and old hands, singles and couples alike will enjoy this dance.

Kids ages 6 and older will have a blast at their own Pajama Party in the RE wing that evening, with dinner, games, music, movies and more provided at $5/child to cover food costs.

All this takes place on Saturday, March 10, from 6 to 10 p.m. at TVUUC. Tickets are $20 per person, with proceeds going to the Youth Group Boston Heritage trip. Tickets may also be obtained by emailing Stephanie Seay  if you can't make it to church.

Bring the family or just bring yourself and enjoy a great time. Tickets are by advance purchase only, and seating is limited, so book your seat soon!

]]>            North Carolina’s Kontras Quartet will bring a concert for young and old to TVUUC on Saturday, February 25, at 7:00 PM. The quartet will perform classical and contemporary music as well as explain the music in a way that delights audiences.

            Admission is free, families are welcome, and free childcare will be provided as well. A dessert social will be held at intermission. This event kicks off the 2012 Stewardship drive and will recognize the winner of the slogan and artwork contest. The concert is sponsored by the Marian Moffett Endowment Fund in memory of a beloved church member.

            Reviewer Gerald Cochran of the CVNC Arts Journal said, “Lest anyone think chamber concerts are stiff and dull, they haven’t yet met the Kontras Quartet.”

            Come celebrate music and the arts!

]]> The Circle of Friendship dinners are an opportunity to get to know people at TVUUC. They will bring small groups of approximately 8 people together to share a meal about once a month over 3-4 months. The members of a group take turns hosting gatherings of their Circle of Friendship. Generally, the meals are in a potluck format although meeting at a restaurant or any other format is OK too. In those hours together over a meal, we will get to know each other better and thus expand the TVUUC community. At least once a year, new Circles will be formed to increase our friendships even more.

Here is how the Circle of Friendship dinners work. When you sign up you will also be asked to indicate some preferences. Based on those preferences we will set up the groups. A coordinator within each group will set up the first dinner for the group and help to organize the subsequent dinners.

We will also have sign up sheets available in the Fellowship Hall between 10.00am and 11.00am on Jan 29th, February 6 and February 13. Complete the sign up form and send it or get it to us by Friday February 17th , 2012.
